Online Training Requirements

VIRTUAL EMDR BASIC TRAININGS: All virtual trainings will be presented with the live-interactive professionally-licensed Zoom version that meets HIPAA requirements. A learning management system is also incorporated into the training experience.

Please note: Participants in for virtual trainings must include their personal cell phone, personal email address, and current physical mailing address where they can receive the training manuals.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS – WHAT YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ONLINE TRAINING:

Zoom system requirements

  • Internet connection– wired or wireless broadband (3G or 4G / LTE)
  • Speakers and Microphones-Built-in, USB Plugin, or Wireless Bluetooth
  • Webcam or HD webcam-built-in or USB plug-in
    • HDcam or HD camcorder with the camcorder
      Note:  See supported devices for supported devices.
    • Virtual camera software used in broadcasting software such as OBS and IP cameras
      Note: For macOS, Zoom client 5.1.1 or higher is required.

Thinkific System Requirements and Supported Browsers

In order to make sure Thinkific runs well, please make sure your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, or smart device has the following:

  • The most recent version of a web browser listed below
  • JavaScript enabled
  • PDF plugin
  • Graphic and audio output capability
  • Broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 5Mbps (recommended)

Note: While Thinkific supports all of the browsers listed above, they recommend using Chrome or Firefox on a desktop for best results.  Check the Thinkific.com website for questions about technical specifications other than those listed here.

Note that Thinkific does not support Internet Explorer. You must use one of the above-mentioned browsers to use the Thinkific learning management site.


PRE-TRAINING VIDEO: In-person and online trainings require participants view at least two hours of pre-training video and reading for an introduction to EMDR Basic Training, including EMDR history, research, trauma theory, and diversity. The videos and reading material for pre-training assignments will be available for viewing at the learning management website, which you will be able to access after registration is completed. The material must be reviewed and the post-test submitted prior to the beginning of the training on Day 1.

COMPLETION OF VIRTUAL TRAINING: 

Each participant is required to complete a two-part learning assessment (quiz) at the end of the training and submit it online at the learning website. The open-book quiz will be discussed during the training and consultation, and participants may review the questions during this time.

Participants must complete the entire virtual basic training (including 10 hours of case consultation) within 12 months from the initial start date.
