Excellence in EMDR Basic and Advanced Training

The EMDR Development Center provides EMDR Institute Regional Basic Training and meets the standards set by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA.org). The training uses the materials of the EMDR Institute (emdr.com). This training includes a minimum of 20 hours of lecture, 20 hours of practicum and 10 hours of consultation, for 40 hours of CEs. It exceeds the EMDRIA requirements  and is equivalent to the traditional Weekends 1 and 2 of EMDR training, plus 10 hours of required consultation.

The EMDR Development Center also provides Advanced EMDR Therapy as an approved provider through the EMDR International Association. Information on advanced trainings are available at the “Advanced Trainings” above.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a comprehensive, empirically validated and integrative psychotherapy based on the theory that much of a  client’s presenting issues are due to unprocessed disturbing life events and/or persistent unmet developmental needs. Over 30 randomized controlled studies have demonstrated the effectiveness EMDR therapy, and it has been approved by multiple national and international organizations for the treatment of PTSD (including the World Health Organization, the United States Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and the American Psychiatric Association.
